Kroger Haul Nov. 2018

Happy Thursday! With Thanksgiving over, we’ve been really focused on getting everything ready for Christmas. It’s only 3 weeks away already!!

Every year the hubs and I decide what to fix for Christmas dinner. We do a very traditional Thanksgiving spread but for Christmas, all bets are off! I got frustrated many years ago at being stuck in the kitchen, cooking and cleaning while everyone else visited and enjoyed their gifts so we chose then to make Thanksgiving all about the traditions of food and make Christmas about being together without so much fuss. We’ve had steak, ribs, Mexican, party food and pasta before. This year we’re having hot wings and ham sliders!

That brings me to my Kroger shopping trip today. Our Kroger had 2.5 pound bags of chicken wings for $4.99 with a limit of 4. I bought all 4 to put in the freezer for Christmas dinner.

They’re also having a 3 day digital coupon sale that starts today and ends Saturday. Johnsonville brats and Italian sausage are only $2.49. Ore Ida frozen potatoes in the 14-32 ounce bags are $.99. Tostitos and Ruffles are $1.49 for the 10-13 ounce bags and some of their Nerf guns and games are on sale for 50% off!!

I grabbed 2 bags of Tostitos Scoops to go with the chicken tortilla soup I’m making this week, 3 packs of the Johnsonville sausage for the freezer and tortellini soup I wanted to try, as well as 5 bags of assorted frozen potatoes to have on hand.

I was most excited about the Nerf guns. Normally priced at $17.99 each, they are already marked down to $9.99, and with the digital coupon for 50% off, they’re only $5!! I bought my limit of 5 (per the digitial coupon) and grabbed an extra ammo pack too. When the kids beg to open a Christmas gift early while out for winter break, we’ll pull these out and have a blast outside and burn off some energy too!

Also on sale this week are Sanderson Farms fresh boneless skinless chicken breasts for $1.99 a pound. I’m making chicken tortilla soup and our oldest requested Cheesy Chicken and Rice for her birthday meal so I made sure to grab the last 2 packs I saw. Jason’s favorite coffee, Community is on sale at Kroger for $4.99 a bag or 12 pack box of kcups so I got him a box of the most delicious smelling flavor, Pecan Praline. I also had to pick up another bottle of ibuprofen. These seasonal migraines are awful.

I don’t know if you know or not, but Kroger is wonderful to find markdown items called WooHoos. I found a box of chocolate animal crackers marked down from $1.99 to $.99 and a big pack of Heritage Farm boneless skinless chicken breasts marked down to $8.37. running through the dairy aisle on my way out, I noticed the WooHoo stickers on some of the 20 ounce packs of Buitoni three cheese tortelini. Normally priced at $6.99 they were down to $3.49. I’ve been eyeing a recipe for Tortellini, Bean and Sausage Soup so I got 2 packs.

So I found a lot of deals this week! Here’s a quick summary and my total:

  • 2 bags Tostitos Scoops
  • 5 bags Ore Ida frozen potatoes
  • 4 – 2.5 lb. bags Kroger frozen chicken wings
  • 5 packs Johnsonville sausage
  • 2 – 20 oz. packs Buitoni tortellini
  • 1 box Community Pecan Praline Kcups
  • 1 box chocolate animal crackers
  • 5 Nerf guns
  • 1 Nerf ammo
  • 1 -100 count Kroger Ibuprofen
  • 12.21 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts

Total: $117.60!!! Also, there is a digital coupon right now that gives 3X fuel points on meat/seafood so I earned 242 fuel points this trip!

Ok so there you have it! I still have some shopping to do this week but this is the main sales I wanted to pick up. If you like this type of post be sure to like it so I know to do more of these, or if there is something else you’d like to see, let me know! I’m always looking for new ideas! Hope y’all have a great weekend!!
