Yellowed Headlight Hack?

Hi guys! This week the rain finally stopped for a couple of days and I am so happy. I can’t believe how much flooding there has been in the past week. It’s pretty scary for me because I have a good deal of anxiety about water, especially dirty water that I can’t tell how deep it is. It’s been a phobia of mine as long as I can remember. Thankfully, since the Corinth flood in May 2010, the city has really fixed things up so that even though everywhere around us was flooded, we were fine in the city.

Anyhow, I have been wanting to do something about my yellowed cloudy headlights for a little bit now. I feel like the lens really dulls the brightness of my headlamps. I saw a “life hack” somewhere that said to use baking soda to clean them. I love the Mrs. Meyers Clean Day baking soda cream cleaner and vinegar gel cleaner for lots of uses around the house. I couldn’t resist trying them out on the headlights to see how well it did!

Before cleaning

I have to say I have mixed feeling about the end result. It did take the yellowing off but it left the cloudiness. Darn I really thought for a minute I had found something perfect! At first, when the plastic was wet, it was clear again and I thought it worked but as it dried down the cloudiness returned. I guess I’ll have to go get some stuff from Auto Zone or Wal-Mart. At least I didn’t waste any money and very little time!!

And after

Have you heard of any hacks you’d like me to try out? I love finding easier ways to do things. Let me know in the comments!! Have a great rest of the week friends!!!
